Fox’s new Lets Big Happy on MySpace with tacos and music

Internet is the new media. Every day, something new that could be done through the medium is discovered. The age old tradition on television of discovering voices and bands and giving them their chance to fame has now been taken to the internet.

MySpace among all the things it does will now also provide young artists and bands with opportunities. Sponsored by Taco Bell, Let’s Big Happy is a seven episode series that has been scripted for the web. This new series from Fox Digital Entertainment will begin this Wednesday. It will be available on MySpace and some other digital stores.

Bringing more surprises, the show will star Angela Sarafyan and will have performances by Andrew W.K, Chiddy Bang, We Are Scientists and Math the Band.

Being a scripted show, the artists from the bands will not only perform but will also star in the show. They have roles they have to step in to. W.K himself was charmed and surprised about how well the musicians embraced these roles.

Sarafyan is Olive Shipley in the show. She starts a blog called Let’s Big Happy. With this music blog she will help new bands in starting their careers. Her earnest efforts will include publicity stunts that tend to go in an unexpected direction and W.K will step in to fix it. Some music and lots and lots and lots of tacos later, everything will end well.

Directed by Brendan Colthrust, it is expected to be the new stage for struggling talented artist and bands. Roger Mincheff, president of MySpace said “The music industry is increasingly broken, and MySpace provides a true alternative. The labels continue to provide a tremendous channel for up-and-coming talent, but the model is changing – new vehicles like ‘Let’s Big Happy’ and MySpace overall will continue to invest in and roll-out creative opportunities to launch and promote emerging artists to hungry audiences”

Andre W.K has promised that this show will be fresh and something that we have never seen before. He has promised a lot of humor, a ridiculous number of tacos, ultimate partying and lots of good music.
