President Barack Obama presents his economic plan for America

President Barack Obama on Monday laid out his proposed 2013 budget with a focus on spending on growth and taxing the rich. This spending proposal seems to be aimed at the voters as it brings into focus the major theme of this re-election campaign of “Economic Fairness”. The Republicans on the campaign trail and the Congress have criticized this proposal for not doing enough to bring down the deficit or curb spending.

Though this budget proposal is expected to go nowhere in the divided Congress just as the spending proposal President Obama presented last year, it is a way for the President to draw the public’s mind away from the terrible state of the economy towards a more hopeful future where most of the spending focuses on projects to rebuild America and job creation. This budget proposes a minimum 30% tax on Millionaires, and increasing the taxes on dividends to the level of their income tax instead of the current 15%. He is also proposing that the Bush era tax breaks be allowed to expire, which would result in some people being taxed at as much as 40%. The $3.8 trillion budget calls for more than $800 billion to be used for job creation and infrastructure investment on projects such as building roads, railways and schools and sets aside money to hire more firefighters, police officers and teachers.  He proposes cutting spending on defense by$487 billion.

After Capturing Florida, Romney moves on and Newt continues to Fight

Mitt Romney, in his conquest to be the Republic candidate to take on Barack Obama in the upcoming U.S presidential elections has taken Florida by storm. Florida is the biggest nominating contest and Romney enjoyed a double digit lead over his nemesis Newt Gingrich in the state-wide polls.

The financial clout backing the two candidates is a no-match. Romney is backed by “Restore our Future” or Super PAC, an independent fundraising entity. They have shelled out the big bucks in the amount of $15 Million on publicity in Florida. The other group has spent only around $4 Million.

What Is The Tea Party Movement All About?

This antigovernment political group has grown at made a dent in the political landscape of America.  It is a highly conservative group of angry prospective voters who feel that Barack Obama is not worthy to be president and that it is imperative to make him a one-termer.  As it stands, there are certain principles that this movement abides by which include fiscal conservatism, a constitution that limits the government, and most importantly free market economic principles.  The Tea Party Movement is in a compromising situation because it is being split into factions that support different candidates that all to often flip-flop.  Maybe after people know what this conservative sect of the American public stands for, there will be more cohesion and unity within the Tea Party base and these republicans can agree on one candidate.

Obama to Elevate Small Business Administration Head into Cabinet

American President Barack Obama announced a new move to promote the head of Small Business Administration into the Cabinet and sought Congress’s help to make it a reality. The move is aimed to free the government of existing bureaucratic burdens and make it’s functioning more efficient.

The announcement is part of a grander scheme to combine SBA with five other Government agencies, which overlap each other in functioning. The merger of these organizations will see a formation of a single entity, thus aiding smoother functioning. The Commerce Department would be one of the six agencies that will be merged. At the current juncture, the President does not need consensus from Congress to elevate the SBA chief, however his proposed merger of trade and business agencies will need the nod from Congress. Such a move will see a major change to the existing federal structure of the country and reduce existing red tape. Wholesale changes to the federal structure have failed to happen since Reagan’s regime.

Could America Have a First Female Vice President?

As the presidential contests are heating up, many moves are being made.  There are politicians in both parties who have important decisions to make in the political game, which has many possible schemes.  Barack Obama is mulling over the decision to fight for the regaining of his presidency with Hillary Clinton as the vice presidential candidate.  This would be a smart move because of the Clinton legacy that was left during times of economic prosperity, a limit of troop deployment, and public satisfaction (despite the Lewinski and Whitewater scandal).

Republican Race to the Whitehouse vs. Obama Reign

There is building tension in today’s political climate.  The road to the Whitehouse for the candidates is a strenuous one where there are negative ads that can make are break someone’s political future, produce scandals, and breed ignorant decision-making.  On one side stands the President that focus’s on an ideology that is cause for conservative uproar.  Things are getting hectic; it is imperative to discuss the downfalls and pitfalls of both parties.  The fact is prospective voters are identifying with fiscal, economic, and religious policies of the president vs. each GOP candidate; it results in these citizens making decisions that are sometimes based upon emotion, sometime secularist notion, and sometime religious zeal.

In America, since the days of the implementation of the Constitution, politicians have been extrapolating from this complex matrix of a document the way government should regulate and best take care of United States citizens.  No matter what you call yourself (liberal vs. conservatives), your political representatives are striving for victories in the governing arena where their ideas and principles are being upheld by legislation.
