BET Awards put Brown and Beyonce sharing top honors

The BET Awards announced on Sunday split the top honors among several well known artists that included Chris Brown and Beyonce. The telecast was filled with live performances and a rich tribute being paid to Whitney Houston. The best female R&B artist award is won by Beyonce and the best male artist title award was received by Chris Brown for his new album named- “Fortune”. The others who earned the awards included the Rappers Jay-Z and Kanye West who received the BET award for the Best Group for their smash hit album “Watch the Throne’”.

The annual BET awards celebrate black musicians, athletes, actors by giving out awards in twenty categories at a show that is aired on the cable TV network BET. Rich tributes were paid to Whitney Houston who was found dead in a bathtub at a Beverly Hills hotel in February. Authorities claiming that the pop star had died in an accidental drowning brought in by heart disease and cocaine use. Houston’s co-stars from her 1995 film “Waiting To Exhale” also paid tributes to Houston before Chaka Khan summed up the tribute with the late singer’s classic hit “I’m Every Women”.
