Having the right mindset can help. And there are plenty of other ways to motivate yourself, like finding a workout partner. Here are five tips to boosting your motivation to workout:

Get dressed

Sometimes the simple act of putting on your workout clothes and sneakers is the best remedy to get motivated to work out for the day. If you dread working out in the morning, lay your exercise clothes out the evening before and put them on right when you wake up. The trick is to focus on getting ready, not the workout. If you are physically moving and engaged, then it’s far more likely you exercise.

Find a workout buddy

Chances are you feel less motivated because you workout alone. Having a workout partner is a proven motivator because this person will hold you accountable when it comes to exercise. Humans are naturally competitive. Finding a workout partner who is a little fitter or stronger than you is a huge benefit. By trying to keep up with the other person, you are challenging yourself in ways you cannot alone.
