Vintage Chanel steals the show at Paris fashion week

Raf Simons had his first show under Dior in Paris fashion week haute couture. He went all out with flower decorations for the walls, a princess in the front row and a new Look.

But, Karl Lagerfeld is not one to bite. Though, after the first day it seemed like Raf Simons was going to give Lagerfeld a run for his money. But the next day, Karl Lagerfeld came with a collection that was breathtaking, fresh and everything the Dior collection was not.

With thirty years of designing for Chanel, he knew what he had to do. He went back to his roots and brought a vintage collection to the runway. He stuck to grey and pink palettes and brought a refined looking collection. With ruffles and fringes and not even with excessive of those, the collection managed to look more spring-like than winter.

He named his collection New Vintage and said that he wanted his collection to have a casual, modern elegance. His front row was not empty either. Diane Kruger, the German actress along with Milla Jovovich, the actress turned model who is also a fashion designer attended the show. Sofia Coppola was also seen to attend the show.
