Be prepared to witness a breath taking “Ring of Fire” Solar Eclipse

Solar EclipseSunday- May.20th will be a special day for the Sun as a partial solar eclipse is expected to darken the sun and the timings are between 5:16 and 7:40 P.M. Solar eclipse is a rare planetary phenomenon that occurs within a gap of decades and is a much awaited by scientists and laymen. Solar eclipse in simple terms is a phenomenon when the moon comes in between the Sun and the Earth in which all or some part of the sun’s light is blocked from the Earth.

The solar eclipse occurring this Sunday (May 20th) will block about 94 percent of the Sun due to which there occur a “Ring of Fire” phenomenon in the sky. The northern California in the United States will be a mute witness to this annular solar eclipse. Experts warn about viewing the sun without any protective eye wear even though the sun is partially eclipsed. Witnessing the solar eclipse without proper protection will lead to severe damage to the eyes.

This phenomenon of annular solar eclipse will take place in the late afternoon or early evening of May-20 covering the whole of North America and on May-21 in Asia. Partial or Annular solar eclipse are as spectacular as other types of solar eclipses but they are quiet dangerous for naked eyes.
